The author is correct that you can get more points with a good sniper shot ... but what baffles me is that so many ppl are sniping that can't shoot for shit!
Good snipers are an asset to any team .... 6 walking target dummies that hardly hit anythig at close range are a waste of space as recons. One of the bigger frustrations in the game :damnmate:
IMO the best 'fixes' for now would be:
- Allow servers to set a maximum on snipers (not recons) and bazooka's
- Allow servers to set win/loose ratio, so it can be done to give a winning team 200% points and the loosing 50%.

What a serious piece of crap driver that is.
I only had issues installing it, it recognized my 4870 1GB as Ati radeon XPRESS1200 (max res 320*200 or something) and it jams all my sound after 2 secs.

I have no fucking clue although when i unplugged my usb Logictech G35-imbaproleetnessomgwtf7.1surroundsound-headset before installing it went fine, so it may be somewhere there in a box of possibilities.
I can't find any clarification tho, why my usb-sound-device would interfere with a pcie gfx device.
Loadingtimes went from nearly 1min. to not more then 5 to 10 secs in BC2.

Grinding is a term used in video gaming (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game) to describe the process of engaging in repetitive and/or non-entertaining gameplay in order to gain access to other features within the game
If killing thousands of people in this game is called grinding, them i'm guilty as charged. Though of course my K/D ratio clearly shows that I am not grinding, but owning .... hard! (:P) .... but more importantly I would hardly call it non-entertaining gameplay :D.
I would say however that the real grinders are the players that make most kills (say 30-35%) with a single weapon, while there are well over 70 different ways to kill your opponent. Do you know anyone that fits the description? ;)
Speaking of K/D ratio's; do I see a disturbing drop in aforementioned ratio in your signature ?

I unleashed the horde of xs4all monkeys to install hyperspeed adsl forthwith, but they are in dire need of a good anti-slack whipping.
Meanwhile they provided me with an umts usb thingie to go online. But this glorified mobile phone connection perfoms atrocious on my pc. I raided with it in wow with mumble on my mac last night and that went sort of ok, but trying to use ventrilo under windows gave me a ping hovering between 1k-20k, so I haven't even dared fire up BFBC2 yet. Godsdamnits. I blame Bill Gates.
At least I'm getting somewhere in single player games now.

Played a few minutes yesterday, got gold medal 8 for ze Saiga woohoo. Saiga with CG or with Motionsmines and a nice server without too much lag = PewPew :)

On Steam it's 7,50 orso ;) nice game yer, playing it once in a while, lvl 75ish. Strange though, after you've finished the main story and killed the big naab, the more interesting dungeon starts.

The Jarl Gustav, the ONLY kills with it that count as skilled are the long distance ones, and even then you have to be lucky enough to have it aimed at some ubernoob who goes into "Bright Eyes, Burning Like Fire" rabbit-in-headlight-mode when he sees a rocket coming towards him with 3 second travel time.
Anyway, fine, I'll go snipe some more now that I learned the follow-the-bullet trick. Tssk. But don't you go whining for ammo when I'm cowering behind a wall @spawn. :peep:

This title was worth the money, got 275hours on Steam for this one, but all games get boring in the end. What helped was the complete bogus hitboxes / laggeronie fest.. what happend to the day of the quake3 / unreal engine based shooters that where just rock solid? I loved the way buildings could be destroyed in BC2, loved how it looked, it ran pretty smooth, but the very basics, the knifing and shooting, wasnt top notch. Anyway I resubbed WoW and leveling a (new, lol) female troll Shaman :P

Try shooting a sniper with an RPG that is affected in game by gravity and we talk about skill again.
Often enough it is easier to kill someone with an AN94 or M60 then a noobtube or RPG. Close range the explosives are easy, long range ownage requires skill and the ability to calculate projectile trajectory and anticipate an enemies movement. Missiles take a lot longer to get there then bullets and you dont have a 30/200 clip/magazine to spray with.
Every weapon used CAN be valid in a "skill" vid. Close ranged RPG is as much skill as killing someone with a pistol or knife from behind. It is not the type of weapone that determines skill, but how it is used.
Now that should spark a bit of your imagination!
