I started cooking for me and my bro when i was 15 yo or something... my parents were often around for work and i love cooking for my friends and my family. Is fun, relaxing and while i cook i eat a lot of good stuff, cooked in the way i like, with the excuse of "tasting" it ^^.

while was going thru a hard time last 2-3 years and was unemployed, I often got bored and so baking cakes gave me pleasure as it took up my time and gave me something awesome to munch on.
Cooking normal food is daily life, but cakes and treats is going that extra little step.

This is the recipe for the MMF i used to cover the weddingcake:

200 gram marshmellows

2 tbsp water

2 tbsp oil

500 gram powdered sugar

Put water and marshmellows in a big bowl and melt it in the microwave for 1,5-2 minutes.

Add the oil (and colour if you want to)
Add the powdered sugar a little at a time, and mix it well.

Use flour when you`re working with the dough so it doesn`t get sticky.

You live in anno domini 1500 ....

Nowadays men cook much better than women, which main skills are to bother men and to go to sexy shops to buy dildos .....

Homemade icecream:rockon:

ingredients:

4 egg yolks
80 g sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla "sugar"
4 dl whipping cream
200 g dark chocolate

preparation:

-whip eggs and sugar until fluffy.
-whip the whipping cream and vanilla and mix the cream lightly into egg mixture.
-melt the chocolate and mix it gently into the cream til it looks "marbled"
-put it in the freezer til it`s frozen

If you`re a freak who doesn`t like chocolate, you can replace the chocolate with something else.

Actually, I don't like dark chocolate;) but just milk chocolate is fine, can maybe take a piece or two and after that it tastes shit again:)

That's normal, little children mostly prefer the sweeter taste of white and milk chocolade.

Just made these for a friend of mine, who`s a worse chocoholic then i am :icon_whistle:

http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk98/SofieFS/DSC01163.jpg?t=1324037940

-Melt 230 g dark chocolate.
-Add 0.5 dl of cocoa powder and 1 dl powdered sugar to the melted chocolate.
-Mix until it`s thick and smooth.
-Put it into mini muffin forms and put a popsicle stick or a plastic spoon in the middle of it.
-Let them cool in the fridge.

You make hot chocolate with these. Just warm up a cup of milk and put one of these in it. Stirr until it`s melted into the milk.
Tastes amazing:elefant:

hmm.. cooking is a science, working from approx measures is cool if you know the recipe your cooking.

I tried measuring in cup size's before and failed. All cups are different sizes.. and particularly in my kitchen I don't have cups only mugs

scarpetta

a "cup" is actually an accurate measure, and it`s not the same as a cup you use for coffee aso ;)
I brought home a cup measurer from Fargo to use in recipes that didn`t have dl listed.
1 dl is same as 0,176 pints if that helps.

Mascarpone Cream!

Ingredients:
- 5 eggs;

- 5 big spoons of sugar (i guess around 100g or something :D);

- 500g of fresh mascarpone;

- half glass of liquor (Brandy, Marsala, Rum whatever you like).

Ok guys, i asked my mom and i got an approximate feedback :D.
Anyway who cares!
How to do it: separate the yolks and the white of the eggs. Mix the yolks and all the sugar with an electric whip. Once is creamy and the sugar is well melted with the yolkes start adding mascarpone and keep mixing it. In the end add the liquor (much or less, this depends how you like it; keep in mind that more liquor you add the more liquid the cream will be).

There's also a lighter version of this. You can whip up the white of the eggs and add them or just part of them according to how light you want the cream to be.

Usually this cream is used for Tiramisù cake but you can eat it also alone, maybe in a nice glass, spoon after spoon, with some cocoa bitter powder spreaded on it! ^^

The advantage of going to swim 5 days per week for 2 km each time allows me to eat whatever i want :D.

Moreover i like cooking stuff more than eating it!!!!

But i must say i am a greedy bastard, especially if we talk about fat and tasty food :D :D.

Here`s the recipe i use for Tiramisu:

6 egg yolks
6 dl cream
150g sugar
500g mascarpone cheese
1 packages of lady finger biscuits
4 dl strong coffee/ espresso
2 dl amaretto
cocoa powder

Beat egg yolks and sugar. Stir the mascarpone cheese into the egg mixture.

Whip the cream and fold into egg mixture with a spatula.

Mix the espresso and amaretto.
Dip the biscuits one by one in the mixture and place the biscuits in a suitable form where you can make a couple of layers. Biscuits should be moist, but not so wet that it crumbles.

Place one layer of biscuits and a layer of cream mixture. Repeat.

Anything you would do different, Pizza?

lol pizza pancakes is easy.. its the same as we use in england to make "yorkshire pudding" as used in "toad in the hole"

I make mine with approx measures.

2 eggs
good helping of flour
some milk
and some water
pinch of salt

and you want a nice smooth mix which is like very thick double cream.

Fluffy pankaces:

3 eggs
3 dl sugar
1 l sour milk (kefir)
3 tsp natron (similar to baking soda)
3 tsp hornsalt (no clue what it`s called in english. smells a lot like salmiak, or use ordinary baking soda ;)
8-10 dl flour
0,5 dl melted butter

Yesterday i've done 2 kg of tiramisù!!! AWESOME!!!

Becouz i've done whole 6 eggs: yolks mixed with half of the sugar (around 75g) and i whipped up the whites with the other half sugar. Then i add the 500g of mascarpone, slowly, to the mixed yolks/sugar, i mix everything untill it's creamy and at this point merge the whipped up whites and mix again.
While Scarpetta uses the whipped up cream instead of the whipped up eggs whites, did i get it right Scarp? I've never used the whipped up cream, sounds interesting!!! But a little bit more "heavy". next time i try your way! :D

I didn't, but doesn't seem so hard, just google it.

If i remember good is a meringue based cake with whipped cream and custard cream together and fresh fruits on top! The origins are from New Zeland or something like that!
